Ramblings of a Mad Man

Invisible claws that surfaced from nowhere. While being weighed down by shackles as I try to float up. There's only the lone star I see up in the sky As I desperately try to wade through cold waters to break surface for breath Fixing my mind to its presence in an otherwise cloudy dark sky. My eyes well up in tears only to be washed away by the water. Cries of loneliness only to be muted by the storms that rage in isolation. I close my eyes and imagine the beautiful things that will come. When the sound of her voice will lull these claws and break me free.

In harsh winds that blow I shall be your flame that refuses to die Lighting your way in the soft reassuring glow of steadfast promises and unwavering resolve My warmth shall console you in the coldest of winters, and all you need to do is look me in the eye Not across the thick blanket of snow and ice that stretch beyond the horizon into a sunless sky I shall be your flame that refuses die; for I shall burn bright to light your smile. We shall get through it all and bask in the summer sun in days to come. I wish I had you in my arms in these times, but until then, these words of hope and love are all I can offer.

The context isn't in raw numbers. The context is in visual-spacial perception. Numbers don't mean crap unless you visually establish their comparative relationship. For better or worse, this is how the world makes sense of chaos now. And there are many who know how to weave manipulated stories using just this. The verity of data is only as good as the ability of the consumer to perceive nuance; and the moral compass of the ones who put it together. And this is exactly what we are missing in how we talk about issues in this country. And this is exactly what any nation's propaganda machine exploits.
